Pr. Nicholas Jarvis <nick.jarvis{at}mark.slu.se>

- Deadline for application: June 17, 2009

- Research area:

A one-year post-doctoral position is available at the Division. The work will focus on the development and testing of estimation algorithms for model parameters governing soil water flow and solute transport, especially predicting the effects of macropores on hydraulic properties and non-equilibrium solute transport using a hydropedological conceptual framework.

The successful candidate is expected to work closely with Prof. Nicholas Jarvis and other colleagues at the Division, contributing towards the further development and application of pesticide risk assessment tools at catchment and landscape scales.

- Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of water flow and solute transport processes in soils, skills in statistical methods, and experience or knowledge of commonly used solute transport models. The successful candidate should have proven good written and oral communication skills in scientific English and should have recently completed (within 2 years) a PhD in a subject area relevant for the position.
