BACKGROUNDS:

This website is built to serve the members of pedometrics.org (colleagues that attended one of the last two pedometrics meetings) and guest users. The website consists of internet and intranet pages. Internet pages are accessible to all visitors, while the intranet pages are accessible only to the members of the society. The intranet pages consist of two main services: automated discussion board and members databank. This means that each member is be able to post an announcement and search the members databank using the website. The website was built on the initiative of prof. Alex McBratney and the website administrator. With the help of a professional web-designer, we were able to build a compact but powerful self-living website. The hosting is managed by the Croatian company PLUS.hr, which is located in Pula, Croatia. We have subscribed for a three year hosting program called Premier 200 (500 MB of web space, 50 e-mail addresses, support to ASP, .NET etc). The domain and hosting will expire on 01. January 2009.
